With several private investors, Ameritus purchased a two story, 100,000 square foot industrial building within Chicago’s densely populated, upscale Lincoln Park neighborhood.  Recognizing a higher and better use for the asset, Ameritus redeveloped the asset as a data center taking advantage of the building’s significant floor loads, access to fiber lines, and proximity to an electric sub-station.  The building was successfully leased to a regional internet provider which eventually declared bankruptcy and vacated the property.  Due to the improvements and outstanding location, Ameritus was able to sell the vacated building quickly to a user enabling it to maintain a substantial profit on the investment.
